frequently asked questions (FAQ)
How long are the therapy sessions?
Therapy sessions are 50 minutes long. We also offer 75-minute sessions for clients who are interested.
How much do the therapy sessions cost?
The fee for each individual session is 165.00 plus GST and the fee for each couple/family counselling session is 185.00 plus GST. If you have an ICBC claim number or if you are part of the CVAP program, a significant portion of your fees might be covered. Please contact us for more information.
How often should I attend therapy?
Research has shown that consistency is essential to achieving positive results in therapy. As such, clients are encouraged to attend weekly or bi-weekly sessions. If that is not feasible for any reason, clients are still encouraged to attend therapy with a frequency that suits their situation.
What forms of payment are accepted?
We currently accept credit card payments and e-transfers.
Is online therapy effective?
Research has shown that online therapy can be as effective as in person therapy for a variety of mental health issues. Online therapy is more convenient, and removes barriers such as physical distance, transport/parking fees and transport time.
Are therapy/counselling sessions covered by insurance?
Most extended health benefits cover counselling services. It is important that you double check with your insurance in advance by inquiring whether they cover the services of RCCs or Registered Clinical Counsellors.
Do you do direct billing to insurance companies?
At this moment we do not provide direct billing services. We do provide a detailed receipt to our clients after each session to submit to their insurance company and get reimbursed.
